A Short & Mason Barometer & Thermometer Set on Zebrano Wood. Designed by Sir Kenneth Grange
A 1965 model Short & Mason Barometer & Thermometer on solid Zebrano wood mount.
This piece was one of the last of the Short & Mason range to be manufactured before they merged with Taylor instruments in 1969 and appeared in the Design Journal in 1965. It was conceived by Sir Kenneth Grange, British industrial designer who was famed for numerous commissions including the Intercity 125 train, pens for Parker and cameras for Kodak. A major retrospective of his work by the Design Museum took place in 2011.
This example is complete with original box, instructions and with wall mounting bracket and is in good serviceable order. The dials measure four inches in diameter.
A rare survivor in such complete condition.
