Eighteenth Century Georgian Mahogany & Kingwood Veneered Chest of Drawers
A beautifully proportioned George III mahogany chest of drawers with original brass handles and escutcheons.
This exquisite eighteenth century example has the finest selected mahogany veneers to the drawer fronts surrounded by kingwood veneered chamfered edges and an ebonised and reeded decorative surround. The chest sits upon splayed feet that continue the line of the chamfer and add shape to the overall design.
This chest was purchased from a country house in the West Country and owing to its quality would have been ordered from a leading London cabinet making firm of the period. An amazingly well executed piece of furniture
